My Husband and i love to visit a new casino. we like slots (occasionally my husband will play Black Jack) mostly, We are fortune to have the opportunity to work on the road we travel in the comfort of our 31 ft rv. we have been all over the west coast from Northern Washington to Southern california including Lasvegas, idaho, New Mexico, Colorado, and we have traveled the southern states as well Louisiana, Florida, Oklahoma. We have been to a bunch of them. This Hollywood casino here in Kansas is Not that small, the machines are spread apart. There are a lot more reel machines (777, machines) then most of the others.. most of their machines have a max bet of 2.00 to 2.50 / spin, some are 5.00/ spin, they have quarter, Nickle and Dollar machines. we won and lost. this visit to Hollywood KS Casino. We ate a burger using the points from our players club card, the burger was great i ordered the Carnivore ( burger, ham, bacon .50 to add cheese) and we had plenty of parking for our Rv, the restrooms were nice and clean,. We didnt encounter any rude employees, We felt the machines to be a tad more tight then others but we could have been picking the losers. They offer complimentary self serve beverages ( Soda pop and Coffee)We had a good time.. be broke even and left after about 8 hours of wandering around hoping to pick the machine that pays.. ( knowing there are a bunch more Casinos to visit in Ks City just a little further down the road. This casino didnt stand out it was a sunday night.. no giveaways or promotions no announcements of up coming events or drawings that we were aware of or told about. but , if you are a new card member you get 5 dollars free play. im giving three stars because its average. it was ok. but of all the casinos we have stepped foot into.. this wouldnt be the one i would go out of my way to come back to.. No reason.. its got to have some excitement. and it was too quiet.. i didnt hear much winning going on. Have fun.. if you are in the area check it out its easy to find off interstate 70.. but keep in mind that there are more options down the road.. we intend on checking them out too.

IGNORE GRUMPY REVIEWS....My adult son and I went to the Hollywood Casino for his birthday. We almost did not go due to the negative reviews on this page.I guess we are not sophisticated bon viands and world travelers as are the other reviewers. Unlike them, I cant compare this to my experiences in the casinos of Monaco. We are simple folk from Johnson County, Kansas. We wanted to hang out, play games and have lunch. We had a lot of fun playing inexpensive slot machines that let us win quite a bit. It was fun to watch these games because they had surprises that made us laugh. We liked our lunch.. The buffet was clean and the food was good.It seemed very safe at this casino. I like the nearby shopping opportunities as well.Well come back frequently for our little outings. We did have a hard time finding games that were fun for us. The server at the buffet did not want to refill our iced tea. We managed to live through this to have a good time.I cant speak for the higher rollers than us. We were there for a diversion and a little fun. We were not trying to make rent money.True, a visit to this casino wont change your life or make you a happy person. It is, however, very nice.I think we are lucky to have this nice place so close to us.

the food at the buffet was horrible, we went on a friday night, had to wait 35 min to eat, by the time we got seated, there was only ham + turkey, chicken, by the time i got to my potatoes, I walked down to get vasabi,(which was dry, not edibal) my daughter got none, it was never refilled. i was the 1. in line for a small pc of steak, it tasted great, when i went back, for a 2. there was ZERO. MY SON-IN-AW GOT NONE. My salead dressing tasted like i would get food poisening, so i did not eat it. we had to wait 30 min for a couple of beers. when we left, our car was lost. it was freezing weahter, my husband is 68 could not sit down anywhere to wait for the car. the glass is not see thru, so everyone opens the door to see if their car made it. we waited 35 min for our car. we cought a cold. we where so happy to come and see the new casino, very dissapointing. we work all day, and need to sit down. i am the only one who had fun, the casino is way too cold, so wear heavy coats, i dressed up with my daughter and froze.i thank the machines, i won some money. thank you it made my night, but everyone else in our party was disapointed. thank you chris

I went to this casino and presented my new Kansas photo ID (drivers license) that I received from the license bureau and my casino member card. In Kansas when you get your license they provide you with a paper copy and mail the actual license in the mail. The old man told me he needs to see my actual drivers licenes the one that I lost.... I said if I had lost my license do you think I would have it to give to you?? I explained I just got the license and I was just at the casino last week and had no problem getting in. He told me no you didnt.....he proceeded to be very rude and unprofessional and repeatedly call me a liar. Why would I lie about that. He advised what the license bureau gave me is not a valid ID, what the, really!? His manager came over and said the same thing, its not a valid ID because they dont have anything to scan.....Anyway, we went to Argocy where they are always very nice, professional and didnt give me ANY issues with my paper photo ID/drivers license. We will not return to Hollywood.

As Lisa indicated, Ignore the 'grumpy' Reviews. We went to Kansas to visit our older son and his family (we are from the Las Vegas area) and obviously wanted to check out this newest Casino. We were not disappointed. Easy access from the freeway; a first rate facility throughout. While, not as large as the big casinos in Vegas, this one is perfect. Very confortable, good parking, extremely well decorated and spotless. We had dinner there, outstanding sevice, great tasking food (competes with the best); the staff-- everyone was friendly, the games were familiar (similar to Vegas) (didnt break the house); won/lost about the same as Vegas. Found out they cannot give free liquor as state law precludes this. Not a big deal, we didnt come to drink, but to relax, have fun and enjoy ourselves. Since this was NASCAR race weekend, being 'on the edge' or adjacent to the Speedway is an additive attraction. In the area a lot of shops and places to eat. We will partake again on our next visit.

I have been to this casino multiple times since it opened and have not been real impressed. My son and daughter-in-law enjoy it so we went Saturday Night. They were sitting playing $5 black jack and about 15 minutes in one of the workers came and told them they had to leave because my daughter-in-law was too intoxicated. Could not give an explanation to why they thought that but made security follow us all the way to the parking lot. When asked to speak to the pit boss to get an explanation we were informed they could not do that. They made a comment that she slurred a word and they felt she was intoxicated. She was very upset and embarrassed, rightfully so. The sad part is, she has a speech impairment and does occasionally slur words. We will not go back to this casino. We did have a man sitting next to us at the slot machines that was truly intoxicated and was fist banging the machine for some time and no one ever came by and escorted him out.

High card Flush is the only non-blackjack table game to come along that is non-poker based. It is suits-based and requires no knowledge of poker to play.
*The Flush and Straight Flush wagers are independent of the outcome of the Ante and Raise.
The classic game in which the player tries to draw to 21, or closer to 21, than the dealer without going over (busting). Each player starts with two cards face up, then is allowed to hit (take another card) or stay (play that hand). The dealer starts with two cards as well, but one is face up and the other face down. Face cards (jack, queen, king) are worth 10, and aces are worth 1 or 11 (player choice). Receiving an ace and a 10 on your first two cards is the lucrative hand known as “blackjack.” Additional bets like “splitting” and “doubling down” are also available on certain hands.
Possibly the most exciting game on the floor, Craps often draws the biggest crowds. The game appears complicated to the newcomer, but the premise is actually quite simple. Players wage money on the outcome of one roll, or a series of rolls, of two dice by the “shooter.” The game is played in rounds, and the first roll of each new round is called the “come-out roll.” An array of player bets is available both for the come-out roll, as well as each additional roll, with payouts dependent on the likelihood of each outcome.
Perhaps the simplest table game of all. In Roulette, a croupier spins the wheel in one direction then places and spins a ball in the opposite direction. After a number of revolutions, the ball eventually falls into one of 38 slots. If the ball lands in a number or color where you placed a bet prior to the spin, you win.
21+ 3 is a fun, exciting variation of the standard casino game of blackjack. After making a wager on the blackjack hand, you may make a side wager that is based on a 3 card poker hand.
The side wager is a bet that your original two cards combined with the dealer’s up card will combine for a winning poker hand. If the three cards combine to make a flush, straight, three of a kind, or a straight flush you win. All winning side wagers are paid 9 to 1.
The game is dealt like a regular blackjack game with 2 cards to each player and one card up and one card down to the dealer. At this point the dealer will take all losing 3 card wagers and pay all winning wagers 9 to 1. After all 3 card wagers are settled, the hand continues with standard blackjack procedures.
The object of the game is to have the total point value of the cards dealt to the player exceed the total of the dealer’s hand without going over 21. When the player draws cards totaling more than 21, the hand “breaks” and automatically loses.
There is no mid-shoe entry allowed in double deck blackjack. In other words, you must begin play with the first hand after the shuffle. If you choose to sit out a hand, you must wait until the next shuffle to re-enter the game.
Craps Free Craps is a fun and exciting variation on the casino game of Craps. Craps Free Craps offers several wagers not available on a standard Craps game.
In the game of Craps 2, 3, and 12 on the come out roll are losing rolls for a pass line bet. Likewise, a come out roll of 11 is a winner on the pass line. In Craps Free Craps these rolls become the “point” and pass line betwins when the number is rolled again before a 7.
Each player and the dealer are dealt two cards. Five community cards are displayed in the center of the table. Players use their two-card hand along with the five community cards to make the best possible five card poker hand.
Ultimate Texas Hold’em features heads-up play against the dealer and an optional bonus bet. This game gives you several advantages:
A maximum of ten players are allowed per table.
In High-Low Split Eight or Better poker, the player with the highest ranking five-card Poker hand and the player with the lowest ranking five-card Poker hand, will divide the pot equally.
Pai-Gow Poker Fortune Bonus is identical to the authorized game of Pai Gow Poker with the exception of the optional Fortune “Bonus Wager.” The object of the game is for the player, using all seven cards dealt, to create a qualifying five card poker hand of a Straight or better.
Easy to learn and fun to play, Three-Card Poker has gained enormous popularity in casinos. The game actually consists of two games: Ante-and-Play (in which you play the dealer to see who has the highest hand) and PairPlus (in which you simply wager on whether or not you'll be dealt a pair or better).
Stud is characterized by players having one or more face up, individual cards. Seven card Stud is the most popular form, and the only type discussed in these rules. Seven card Stud is played high, low, and high-low split. To avoidrunning out of cards on a deal, all seven card Stud games normally will be restricted to a maximum of eight players.
Mississippi Stud is a five-card poker game that lets players bet up to 10 units on a single hand. In Mississippi Stud, players compete against a paytable, not against the dealer, and win if their hand is pair of jacks or better.
